String Potholders
I have finished most of the pot holders I was working on. I intend to give pairs of them as little Christmas gifts. I used two layers of old bath towel as filling so they are very thick.
I cut a bunch of strips for the mystery quilt yesterday and snipped half of the rag quilt I am making as a gift. I hope to finish clipping it tonight so I can take both rag quilts to the triple loaders.

Great potholders!!!!
This look terrific. Way to go.

Did you sew the strips directly onto the towel layers using a sew & flip technique? Or did you piece the top of the potholder and then layer and quilt? Thanks.
I used a foundation square and stitched and flipped the strips on that, but now you have me wondering if that is necessary. Maybe I could have just stitched the strips to the towel. My back square was a solid piece of fabric, usually the same as the binding but not always.
I used two layers of towels for padding.
I think next time I will try stitching the strips directly to the towel squares.
Thanks for giving me a new way to try. :-)
